American Idol Saves The Best For Last With Kris Allen

Hi Everybody,
Tonight’s performances are all popular “most downloaded” songs.  The final nine have an enormous amount of songs to chose from.  Let’s see if they chose the right one!
Anoop Desai chooses an Usher song.  Judges aren’t too thrilled with the song choice but they do say his vocals were good.  Well, all but Simon–he said [...]

Tonight’s American Idol Features Popular Tunes

Hi Everyone,
Tonight on American Idol the final nine contestants will perform songs from the “most downloaded” list.  This gives the contestants a chance to show their marketability.  But, they also run the risk of competing with a current vocal superstar by choosing a song that screams that superstar’s name.  Since these songs are popular and [...]

Sarver Sent Packing On American Idol

Hi Everybody,
This week’s American Idol results show was packed with stars…Smokey, Stevie, Ruben.  Well, maybe Ruben isn’t exactly a star, but he is a past American Idol.   When he performed, I listened closely because I wanted to see if he really should have been an American Idol.  I like when he sings those slow romantic [...]

Once Again Adam Dominates on American Idol!

Hi Everybody,
This week is Motown week.  I’m pretty excited because I love Motown music.  The Idol contestants get to go to Detroit to meet Barry Gordy and Smokey Robinson.  Then Smokey goes to Los Angeles to mentor the contestants.
Last American Idol ended with Matt Giraud and this AI starts with Matt.  He sings Let’s Get [...]

American Idol Schedule Change This Week

Hi Everyone!
I hope you are enjoying your weekend.  Taking in a college BB game or two maybe?

America Says Goodbye to Alexis Grace

Hi Everybody,
I just can’t say it enough times.  I hate American Idol’s results show.  The group numbers are always so corny and no one ever looks comfortable during them.  At least the contestants look like they are having fun during the Ford commercials.
After some fill-in of Jasmine and Jorge’s farewell party, Ryan announces that Danny [...]

Why Does American Idol Try To Be Country Idol?

Hi Everybody,
First of all, let me start by saying that I hate country week.  Don’t get me wrong, I like country music, but I just don’t want to hear it on American Idol.  I don’t think it’s fair to make everyone perform such a specific genre of music.  But I guess it’s an American Idol [...]

American Idol Goes Country

Hi Everybody,
This week’s American Idol is Grand Ole Opry Week.  The mentor for the week is Randy Travis.  He’ll work with the contestants on their upcoming performances.  He will also perform on Wednesday along with Carrie Underwood.  Also performing this week will be Brad Paisley.
This should be an interesting week for a few of the [...]

American Idol Eliminates Two Tonight

Hi Everybody,
The “new twist” is that the judges can VETO an elimination.  It has to be unanimous and they can only do it once for the entire season.  When the final five are picked, the veto disappears.  It’s an insurance policy for the American Idol producers not to lose a super performer.
Ryan starts with Michael [...]

Talent after talent on tonight’s American Idol!

Hi Everyone,
We’re finally down to the nitty-gritty on American Idol!  The top 13 performed for the first time tonight.  The featured artist was Michael Jackson.  Since there are 13 performers, two will be eliminated this week.
As I’m sure you all know, word on the street is that the first performer and the last performer are [...]
