Ouch…Casey Doesn’t Make the Idol Cut

Ryan kept hinting that the results were going to surprise America, but whoever was voted off tonight had to leave at least some of America disappointed.  The bottom three were Scotty, Casey and Jacob.  Jacob was the first to be sent back to the couch.  Twitter was ablaze with horror!  LOL  “Please not Scotty” was tweeted time and time again.  Once again, the teens got their wish and Casey was eliminated saving Scotty for another week.

I have to admit, I really thought that Jacob’s time had come, but I didn’t think Casey was far behind so “oh well”.  Casey sure went out with style, didn’t he.  I was really proud to see him take control of his own destiny and go out with style.  Good luck Casey Abrams.  I will definitely follow your career.

I must comment that I enjoyed both guest performances tonight–Bruno Mars and Crystal Bowersox were fun to watch.  Wish I could say the same for the Top Six Finalists number, but I can’t!  That was just not good.

What did everyone think of Jimmy Iovine’s comments.  Hey, wait a minute…how about Jimmy Iovine becomes a judge instead of those three “Idol-izers”?  I don’t think Steven Tyler can say a bad word about anyone, but I still don’t care–I love you Steven Tyler!

So, who’s staying up to watch the Royal Wedding tonight?  If you are…enjoy yourself.  I’ll catch up with the royals in the morning.  Have a good night!  Bloggergal

Well I unfortunately was scooped on FB before the show aired so I pretty much didn’t care about the whole show. I did like his last note being sung to Haley. Maybe there is a future there. I can’t see Jacob in the top 4 but stranger things have happened. I still believe you are better off not winning and coming in 2nd. I will be watching the Royals on fast forward tomorrow. Nite.

A big shock That casey is gone, I don’t think he should be gone before jacob. at least my fave James is still in it, GO JAMEs!!!! :lol:

I thought with Ryan’s buildup it would be Lauren or Scotty. Not surprised to see Casey go, he probably had the least fan base. We certainly haven’t seen the last of him, although he may be much more behind the scenes in the music biz. I thought his last performance was great.

Agree completely re: Jimmy Iovine becoming a judge. Although, I like his role this year and do hope he is back.

I too enjoyed Crystal and Bruno. Still burned that Crystal didn’t win, and can’t remember who she lost to… he is that memorable. I agree with Antaanne about coming in second… I think it helps them get started with their career more and if they are true idols they will rise. Crystal looked fantastic!

The number by the finalists was awful last night.

I was very nervous since my favorite contestant is Scotty. I agree with Bloggergal because I thought Jacob was heading home. However, I’m not one of the judges so I can’t make that call. Guests like Bruno Mars make the show very enjoyable and keeps fans watching. It’s getting down to the wire all contestants must put out their “A” game.

I am shocked at Casey being voted off last night on Idol, I thought it would be Haley for sure. I also disagree with how everyone thinks that Jacob should be sent home, i’m not surprised at all that Jacob is still here, I think he has a terific voice.

To start off Scotty in the final three is unbelieveable to many viewers including myself. I have said time and time again the Lauren and Scotty deserve to be in the final performance. I also believe that it is time for Jacob to go but not Casey. America loves Casey’s light-heartedness and his care-free attitude so why vote him off. This is where I start to think that it is Rigid. But I will believe that until Scotty is the top idol on the last show.

Well, now that Casey is gone the only other half way decent contestant is Jacob Lusk. Scotty can only sing one thing and that is country. James Durbin isn’t even very good.

I am very surprised that Casey went home. I thought he was one of the few left that had a lot of potential. Definitly a disappointment. I think that either Jacob or Haley should have went home. I don’t know why they are still in the competition. I’m pushing for James to take the win this season.

I’m really disappointed that Casey is gone. However, I’m sure he will ‘make it big’ after idol. The bottom three was really surprising, I’m sure they just didn’t get enough votes because people thought they would make it through no matter what. I’m pretty sure that the last show will be between Scotty and James. I really don’t like James’s way of singing though and I think Scotty’s way of singing is exactly the same for every song.

I didn’t think Casey would make it to the final three, but it’s hard to grasp how he left before Jacob. Not to take anything away from Jacob, he has a gorgeous voice, but I can’t say I’d buy his records or want to attend one of his concerts. IMHO, when it gets down to the final six, you’ve got to look more at the whole package than just the voice. Casey is probably the most musically talented of the entire group, but it seems to me in order to be an “American Idol” you need to be concert-worthy/album worthy…and a full concert of just Casey seems too much the same old growl. That’s why I think Lauren or James will win it…their style is diverse and can hold someone’s attention and enthusiasm across the span of an entire album/concert. Just my two cents…

I was very nervous when Scotty was put in the bottom three, But I’m really surprised that Jacob wasn’t the one to go, Casey did way better than Jacob in my opinion. But Scotty is still my favorite and I know he will be the finalist with either James Durbin or Lauren Alaina.

Murphy, i have to disagree with you, I think that Jacob is very deserving of being in the Top 5, he has a great voice, and will be very tough to beat.
My predictions for the Top 5:

I agree with Kat. I’m dissapointed to see Casey go. He was a very talented performer and knew how to rock the crowd. The bottom 3 was also very dissapointing… I believe the top 5 should be:

I agree with brandon galli. I dont think he’s that good. I really think he’s going to leave by the next two eliminations.

I disagree with Galli, When he says that Scotty McCreery isn’t good as people say he is, because he is. But I’m not gonna lie James does have talent, but Scotty just has more talent than him.

i agree with agree with murphy, i thouhgt jacob would be sent home. Along with murphy Scotty is me favortite. I was very nervous because i would really like to see him win it all. The performances are going very well in the show. It makes the show so much more interesting.
