American Idol From Current to Classic

I’ve read through your comments and Angie overwhelmingly is your favorite. That definitely shows me her target audience.

As you must know by now, no one was eliminated last week because the judges never used the save. Once again, this week, we had the opportunity to hear all four finalists perform two songs. The first song was a current hit–in other words from 2013 and the second was a “classic”. I knew all the classics, but I guess I’m not always up on current hits!

The judges were in strange moods. It’s almost like they were looking for stuff to gripe about. I didn’t think anyone did a bad job and looking back this morning, I can’t say one performance stood out as outstanding either. I deliberately wait until the next morning to write, so I can see what stuck out in my mind. I remember Amber crying after singing “My Funny Valentine”. I thought she cried because she had given so much to the song that it made her emotional. The judges seemed to think she was kinda loosing it.

I didn’t think that mentor Harry Connick Jr. did a good job. He seemed to be confusing the contestants more than helping them. Him coming out on the stage after Kree sang wasn’t fair to the other contestants. Although, I don’t think America listens to what Harry Connick Jr. thinks.

The bottom two were Amber and Kree last week. Votes from last week will combine with votes from this week making it more difficult for the bottom two, I would think. We shall see tonight!

I didn’t forget about the prizes for my comment makers–I’m just SLOOWWWW :-) Bloggergal

I agree with you on Connick. I feel like he had nothing good to say at all; the performances were eh to me. Also, my bet is that Amber and Kree are still going to be in the bottom two like last week. I just want to say goodbye to Amber! I’d like to see Kree go first but I don’t think it’s going to go that way. What I hate is that it’s so predictable now, though. I was very bored today in class watching American Idol, to be honest. I was into it for a little while, but now we know the best of the best and who’s going home. I also thought that newer hits that they sang sucked, haha. Kree changing Stormy Weather was HORRID. I’m a big fan of older music from that time, so my expectations were way up! I was expecting her to do it how Lena did it, but I guess it wasn’t bad that she made it her own.

Even though I didn’t know the classic songs, I still loved them nonetheless. I was disappointed that no one left because I just wAnt to get closer to the finale. My favorite is still Angie, but I am convinced that America likes Kree just as much. With the X factor’s decision of Tate Stevens over Carly Rose, I think it’s possible for another country star to outshine someone once again. Despite the fact that Kree is good, I still think Angie and Candice have a much better voice and more talent. It isn’t as exciting as I wish it could be and i’m quite bored with it, yet I hope that a true American Idol is produced from all of this.

I’m really not happy with this weeks performances. I was looking forward to hearing Angie sing, and honestly she let me down. I was so disappointed. I think she tried to step out her comfort zone but now isn’t the time for that. She has officially made a name for herself, and I think its safe to say we are happy with what we had. With her second song I couldn’t tell you who that was singing. None of the performances stuck out for me this just wasn’t the girls week. If I had to pick who did the best, it would be Amber though. At this point I have high expectations for the girls. I just hope next week is better.

I was pretty disappointed that no one was eliminated last week. I feel like this whole season has just been dragging on. I want Kree gone, plain and simple. I think she has a good performance once in a while, but she’s inconsistent. Even though I generally like country music, I don’t like her style at all. Like taryn said I think her cover of Stormy Weather was just awful. I want to see either Candice or Angie win. I would love to see Candine win just because she’s the underdog, but I really feel like America likes Angie the best. I’d be very surprised if she didn’t win the whole competition.

I was also disappointed no one was eliminated this week. I feel like I have been watching the same four girls sing for weeks and now that the judges used their save it made the show drag on even more. I definitely think Amber will go this week and then Kree. I think America likes Angie the most but this week I didn’t enjoy her performances at all. I almost felt like she tried to do something different, instead of playing the piano, but she is at her best when she plays the piano. I agree with you about the performances and how none of them really stood out. They were decent but as it’s getting closer to the finale I thought they would be better.

classic songs are not for me. I’m still pulling Angie however, I believe Candice won the night. I hate Kree and Amber so will, see. If it isn’t Candice and Angie in the finally then this show is even stupider then I made it out to believe. I guess will have to wait and see

I love the classic song theme. I really don’t know about Harry Connick Jr. but it seems like no one likes him. When I saw Angie performed diamonds, I wasn’t feeling it. First of all I hate that song, and I also think she tried to hard, but overall she still is my favorite with Candice as my second. I believe though that the top three will have to work extra hard for them to win because they are all good.

I think that Angie is going to win American Idol this year. If you take a look I think she is favored by most of the viewers. However you could never count out Candice. She seems like she`s getting more and more popular after every week. She could end up pulling an upset, but I can`t see that happening. It`s definitely going to be her and Angie in the Season finale though. I can`t see it going any differently then that. If it`s not Candice and Angie in the finale then I will be really surprised, because those two defiantly have the most talent. I`m not saying that Kree is a bad singer and i really feel that she has a bright future in the music industry, but think about it this is American Idol. Some of the biggest names in music history have competed in this competition. Names like Carry Underwood, Kelly Clarkson and Adam Lambert. When you compare these three to Kree I just don`t think she`s worthy yet of being mentioned along side those names, but maybe someday she will be she defiantly has the talent for it, but I just don`t think she could win American Idol this year, but you never know anything could happen, all it takes is one good performance and she could become the favorite. All three of these finalist have amazing talent and the ability to go really far in the music industry, but overall I think that Angie will end up walking away with this one.

I don’t think Kree has a great boice but her style is wrong. Angie is the best contestant. Hope she wins.

i really dont like the theme classic. i feel like kree did the best but angie is also really good. i dont like amber or candice at all they should both go home.

Dominique Denisco Says:

No one really stands out to me.. There’s generally always one or two people that I’m really rooting for throughout the season. This year, however, everyone is just equally average. Not one of the contestants has a consistently good performance. If it wasn’t mandantory, I can guarentee I would NOT be watching this show this season. The winner will be Angie, I could’ve predicted this about 15 episodes ago..

i think that performences were overall good but i dont perfer the catagorie “rewind”. i think the top 2 will be candice and angie.

I dont think I like the whole classic songs. When Angie performed Diamonds she did amazing. I am not really crazy about that song but over all she did great.!!!It is going to be a hard choice for the top 3. I really hope that Angie will win American Idol. I didnt like Harry Connick Jr. that much. I cant wait to see who wins American Idol.!!

i thought the contestants did a okay job but i still think angie is the best aand hopefully win this but i think the others are alright but i dint like there voices that well but angiews is quite amazing but then again thats just my opinion.

I really liked the classic song theme. It was fun to watch and judge. It made it easy to compare with other contestants. I did not like how Harry Connick’s form of mentoring. I think he could’ve done better. But overall i liked the theme overall. Angie is my favorite.

its not surprising that they used the sav becaus they rally are all good in their own way and i would be hard to ge rid of them. it’d also get the audience pretty unhappy so it was a good move.

I wasn’t that impressed with the music choices. I think that Candice is the best though

Andrew Baylor Says:

Angie still stands out the most, but nobody can really be called the best yet. They all are worthy competitors of each other and anyone still has a possibility of winning. Kree’s country style is good, but her voice doesn’t fit. The one who I think is going to win is Angie.

Gravatar
Jacob Yarmey Says:

None of the contestants stick out to me. I didn’t think Angie’s performance of Diamond was good at all. She sounded off key. Any of the four coukd win the competition.Harry Connick Jr gave horrible advice.

mark ostroski Says:

i really think that all these girls are really good singers and that the judges have there work cut out for them in picking a winner. If i had to pick one it would be Anqie Miller.

Matthew Dovidas Says:

From what I’ve seen, I think Kree is the worst of the four that had remained, i think she honestly is destroying my love of country music. I think Amber should not have gone home last week, i believe it should have been Kree, but it may have been the fact the Harry Connick Jr. came out on stage for Kree might have swerved the votes to Kree over Amber. but, however, i do like Angie and Candice. Those two are by far my favorite. and I disagree with Keith, i think Angie’s rambition of “Diamonds” by Rihanna was phenominal, i think the arrangement really stood out and clicked for me.

i didnt really know any of the classic songs but i think the girls had sung amazing i was still dissapointed that no one left cause i feel someone hadnt sung to there full potential and that person should have been booted off and so they would be able to go on with the show but still this show is going great so far i hope angie wins tho she is by far the best

Anige is my favorite singer and i think she has the best talent at singing. I loved her from the begining and cant wait to see who wins the compatition.

Maria Marstell Says:

i really enjoyed the classic songs better than the current hits. I have always loved classic songs. All the judges did seem a little vex to me. I don’t believe they were too happy with the performances. i do have to agree they weren’t bad but not one really took the spotlight. Seeing amber on the bottom surprises me. i think she should’ve been on top along with angie. Kree being on the bottom doesn’t surprise me. Kree and Candice aren’t my favorites. Angie and Amber though, i can’t say who’s better ! they both are awesome talented girls! i was shocked to see that no one went home !

Zach Lahart Says:

I think that everyone is doing an amazing job. Angie, for me is still showing the best talent. The people have to make votes on TALENT not popularity or else we will never hear from them ever again. I am anxious to see what will happen.

Jake Moyer Says:

I think kree is probably the worst out of all of them, don’t get me wrong, shes a pretty good singer, but compared to the others she’s definitely the weakest of them. I think Angie is the best though. I hope she wins.

Alec Breisch Says:

I was very dissapointed that we did not see anyone go home last week, I know that the top 4 has to have some fans somewhere that is why they have made it so far in this competition. But to me the only contestant left that has a chance is Angie, I did like the fact that HarryConnick JR. came onto the stage after Kree got done with her performance, I think that it definatly showed favoratism towards kree, and I really hape that Kree is the one to go home this week, then again I miss Paul Jolley on the show he was the best to me this entire year.

I didn’t really recall any of the songs that were sung (new or classic) and i agree that none of the performances stuck out, hopefully this episode will be more entertaining than the last.

Keith Pugh Says:

I wasnt really feeling the whole classic theme song thing, but they alldid good though. It was also kinda stupid that no one was eliminated because we wouldve been a step closer to see who is going to win it. Angie is going to win it all.
