American Idol Guys Take the Stage

Well, all along me along with America has been complaining about the lack of talent on the guy’s side of this American Idol season. Yes, some of the talent just doesn’t measure up to the gals, but some of it–yow!

One of my favorites is Curtis Finch Jr. When he sings, he feels it in every inch of his being. When you watch, so do you. As the judges said, he brings a positive energy that America needs right now. Love this guy!

I also love Burnell Taylor. He is cute and has something about him that makes me want to see him perform more and more. The only thing that bugs me about him is he overuses his hands while singing. It’s like he’s signing for the blind.

Third on my list of favs is Lazaro Arbos. Are there people in America that DON’T like Lazaro? I kinda doubt it. He has a purity when he sings that is wonderful to hear. Like Curtis he brings a positive energy to the stage and the audience.

Vincent Powell is another one of the guys that I’ve loved from the beginning. This time his performance wasn’t up to par, but his personality and stage presence are great. I would love to see him continue on.

If I were picking my top five that leaves me with only one more pick and that would have to be Devin Velez. Devin has a niche market. He’s got stage presence, a great voice and singing in Spanish pulls him away from the maddening crowd.

So if those five make it–who didn’t? Well for starters we have Charlie Askew. Charlie is unique and interesting to watch. I’m actually afraid that he is going to take a spot from a very talented performer. His emotional semi-breakdown may get American voting. I hate to watch this kid deal with a very private illness on national TV.

Cortez Shaw is definitely one of the hottest guys this season. He is very easy to look at. I just don’t think he is as good as the five I listed above. Same goes for Nick Boddington. He’s a good singer, but nothing sticks out to save him IMO.

Starting out the show last night was Elijah Liu. He’s relevant, but he doesn’t do anything for me.

An interesting contestant to me is Paul Jolley. I like Paul Jolley a lot. So why isn’t he in my top five? Well, frankly there are already five in my top five so there wasn’t any more room. You know where I’d like to see Paul Jolley? I think he’d be excellent on Glee.

So tonight we see how America voted. Hopefully, America votes for talent and not popularity because I would hate to end up with some bad singers while good singers go home. I guess we shall see…Bloggergal

i think burnell is a good singer but i would say vincent is the best he has a good voice and i dont like charlie

I didn’t like any of this weeks performances. Devin did a good job singing in Spanish. Some of the singers had talent but I didn’t think they would be Idols. Mariah is a great judge and knows what she likes.

I think Burnell Taylor had a good performance. Charlie is slightly odd but the competition needs diversity. Randy has been a judgeon the show longer than anyone else and should stay.Get rid of Nikki.

I think that Curtis was amazing. he was one of my favorites and I actually think the guys do have alot of talent, the girls do to. I agree with you and I also think Lazaro has an innocence to him and I really don’t think America could possibly hate him. It’s not possible. Randy is a could judge, sometimes the other judges are afraid to say certain things that he just goes ahead and says. You have to do that as a judge.

I am not a big fan of any of the performers so far hopefully they’ll get better. Also I was never a big fan of Randy Jackson as a judge but I like him better now since he is the only original judge and didnt jump ship

Randy Jackson is definately the best judge, all of them are good accept for Nicki Minaj. they need to get rid of her.

i also thought that the talent level is really starting to go down hill. With all the other singing tv shows now american idol is at the bottem of the todem pold. Also randy is really the best judge out there with him now taking the roll of simon and him just making contestents cry is just plan funny and simon is just better then simon.

I thought Burnell Taylor did really good. I thought Paul Jolley would’ve done better but it was still good!I think Randy Jackson is one of the best judges because he has alot of experience and has been on this show longer than anyone.

I feel like Paul shouldn’t have made the top D; quite frankly, I don’t really like him as a singer. I’m really hoping Burnless makes it through for the guys. I think he would have a lot of star appeal if he makes it, too. Randy seems like he was trying to take the spot of Simon during the beginning-beginning with audtions. I wonder why they’ve kept Randy there for so long. I think, arguably, he’s one of the more iconic judges.

My favorite performance this week was Paul Jolley. Also I think Devin Velez was smart to sing in Spanish because it’ll get him a lot of the Latin American vote. Randy Jackson is my favorite judge. He always gives an honest opinion and tries to help the contestants. I trust his judgement because he’s one of the originals.

Mariah is probably the best judge because she doesn’t shoot down anyone. She interacts with the contestants and respects them like they are as good of a singer and a musician as she is.

The guya are a very strong group. I like a lot of them. My favorite is Burnell Taylor. To me he had the best preformance. Randy Jackson is my favorite judge. Randy Jackson knows what talent is and he is one of the original judges thats why he is my favorite.

I think Randy Jackson is the best judge on their because I feel like he knows how to break the news to the contestants without being viscious, unlike Nicki. I think they should get rid of Nicki.

i think randy jackson is the best judge out of the four of them, and keith is good also. nicki looks like an overglorified umpalumpa that escaped the choclate factory and acts like a cow most of the time.

I like Randy Jackson . He is the judge that has been there the longest , also I think the boys did good except Charlie Askew, he needs to go home .

randy jackson is the best judge he has been there the longest and all the other judges have no clue what there doing there for their first year or so i dont think anyone really cares about the other judges cause there terrible people. and the guys do have some talent but no one really stands out above the rest.

All beleive that all the boy contestants are very good and have a good chance to win. The judges were tugh to the boys and i think a boy will win it all this year. Also i think that rany is a very good judge. In my eyes he is the bes one there and know the most about what he is talken about.

The guys are really good this year. Both Devin and Lozaro blew my mind. They are really good, I think its either Devin or Lozaro will make it to the end. Randy is a expert in his judging, but ever since Simon left he has become the mean judge. Which is not that bad because its nessicary

I believe that randy is the best judge between all of them. He says what he thinks wheteher its hurtful or not. The boy contestants also did a good job. teeheehee

I don’t think any of them are okay judges. They’re all biased towards a certain genre, and that is what causes song like “Friday” to be made. Most of the winners from American Idol have a hit song that’s always on the radio, and lately they all sound terrible. So we don’t need anymore of them, and thats why I don’t like any of the judges.

I thought that Charlie Askew looked like a drag queen with his attire. I definately was not a fan of his drees up. Paul Jolley would have to be my favorite for the men. He has a great singing voice and is one of our U.S. veterans. Randy Jackson is a pretty good judge in my opinion.

I thought that Paul Jolley had a verry impressive performance this week, but he was the only male that really showed any talent this week, I have said from the beginning that I believed that there will be a male winner this year. I was not verry impressed with Lazaro this year, he just does not show much talent to me, I think that Lazaro will definatly be going home this week. I am also a verry big fan of judge Randy Jackson he is the only judge that I really like I think that Randy is a great replacement for Simon Randy tells the contestants what he thinks and he does not shuger coat anything, if the contestant is really bad Randy will just come out and say it that is what makes Randy my favorite.

I find that Randy Jackson geneally is a good judge but sometimes makes very poor comments. He tends to be very repetative with his advice and criticism torwards the contestants but the good out wieghs the bad.

Randy is a very good judge. He speaks his mind and is very direct. To be a judge you need to be ascertive. You can not worry about people’s feelings.The guys did a very good job performing. Some of them could have done better, but I think all together they all tried their best.

Well, Jolly made the top. I like him but i don’t think he is “star” material. I think Charlie will mae it due to his unique way of portraying himself. I’m currently watching the episode so I don’t know who all made it. I also love Nick because of his overall style and sound. And i believe Devin most certainly won the minority vote. For Randy Jackson, I agree wih my BIFFLEE Taryn that he is the most iconic judge on the panel. He’s blunt and direct. His over-use vocal fillers makes me lose respect for his opinion, though.

I watched the guys this week and they wee pretty good. I wonder how they will do this year and It seems to be a 50/50 throw of who will win. Randy Jackson is probably the best judge of them all. At least he isnt a judge I would like to smash their face in with a tire iron.

Although I think the majority of the contestants have a certain level of talent, I just don’t see them making it big. It’s hard to become a true star coming off of American Idol, although it has been done before. It’s a hit or miss kind of thing. On another note, I have to say I really respect Randy Jackson for sticking with American Idol through all of these years! It may not be anyone else’s favorite, but, personally, I love the judges this year! They really make everything intersting and they definitly get the show more views.
