American Idol Hollywood Week…Girl Style

It’s very hard to blog American Idol in the beginning of the season.  Good talent comes and goes.  There are certain contestants that Idol gives all the camera time to.  In the end, they won’t necessarily be standing after the final elimination, but they will have provided some good TV.

Last night was girls group night in Hollywood.  It started out with 162 contestants.  From there, they will be whittled down to 20.  What’s that mean?  Well it means that 142 contestants will be sent home.  That’s a lot of good singers getting the boot!

Of course, we had a ton of drama during the group round.  The girls are notorious for their actions at this stage of the competition.  Hey, but that’s just because we are filled with passion and emotion!  The girls also had some amazing performances.

Tonight the girls who are still standing will get one more solo performance.  At the end of tonight’s show, there will be only 20 girls.  If you remember from last week, eight more guys still need to be eliminated to get the number down to 20.  Why they didn’t eliminate them last week is beyond me.

So, I’m not going to name names today.  I’ll wait for the final 20 gals and guys tonight.  We are finally getting down to the good part!  See you soon. Bloggergal

Our music teacher is requiring us to blog and comment on yours. I thought it was quite funny that nearly none of the girls knew their lines and had to write all of them on their body. Plus, Niki is vexing me. I don’t think she is doing a good job judging. In my opinion, an artist with a little more talent, experience and fan respect should be judging rather than her.

I was not very impressed with the girls last night, I know it is still very early in the competition but I believe that we may have a male winner this year, by the way I am not a big fan of the new judges this year especially nicki minaj I do not know how much I can take of her.

Ashley…that kinda hurts my feelings. You are “required” to comment?

Alec…no one is speaking positively about the judges this season. I’ll reserve my judgment about the girl talent until we actually get to hear the REAL singers. Thanks for commenting…even if you are required! LOL

I absolutely hate Nicki Minaj with a burning passion. A burning. Passion. Her voice is so painful to listen to when she speaks normally, and it’s even worse when she “sings” if that’s what you want to call it. I don’t understand why she needs to talk in a British accent? She complains about needing the contestants to be PROFESSIONAL. I wouldn’t be taking what should be a “professional show” seriously if some girl who changes her hair color every day spoke to me in a fake accent when she’s supposed to be a judge. On top of that, I think if you can’t even memorize your lines to a song for an audition that’s supposed to be their dream job, they’re not going to make it far. Sorry for the rant

The girl week sucked in particular to me, their were a lot of weird people and just very few that i would consider talented. Other than okay I don’t have much to say about the women, much rather of watched the men, at least their more decent. Those new judges blow and are ruining an already going down hill show, its a music talent show not a drama. I especially hate that b**** Nicki Minaj…… sigh

Zach…don’t hold back…tell us what you think! ;-)

Taryn…somebody must like Nicki. She’s a “superstar”.

Both boys and girls had good performances but some had to be cut. There were quite a few talented singers before and after the cuts. I don’t see why the judges have so many people before the cuts though. The judges are usually fair with contestants. I don’t think Nikki Minaj should return next season, as she is quite annoying already on radio.

From watching the girls week I honestly think there are more men with talent in the competition. Also by writing the lyrics to your song on your arm shows no experience or confidence to the judges. I’m sure the judges are looking for someone that can atleast memorize the lyrics to a song to win this competition. Overall,I wasn’t that impressed with the girls.

whoever needs to write lyrics on their hands/arms should reconsider what their doing…no artists do that plain and simple

In my opinion, the competitors this year are lacking so far compared to previous years. Like everyone else I think it’s completely ridiculous those girls had to write lyrics on their arms and expected to advance in the competition. No one has stuck out to me talent wise so far. The sob stories are more interesting than the vocals

I THINK THERE WERE SOME GOOD SINGERS AND SOME TERRIBLE ONES THEY NEED SOME WORK IF THEY WANT TO MAKE IT THROUGH THE END

I dont think that Nicki Minaj should be on American idol. She should show more respect for good singers that dont sing pop or can rap like her. Its almost like she blocks out everything else and ignores it.

I really do not like any of these girls in the competition. I am gonna agree with everyone else on this & say that nobody should have to write lyrics on their body. It’s honestly ridiculous & sooo un profesional. Before going on american idol you should be more advanced then that, especially if you are truley on the show for goood reasons & trying to be THE “American Idol”.
