American Idol’s Top Ten Gals Take the Stage in Vegas

Last night, we heard the 10 final girls sing in Las Vegas. Tonight we hear the 10 guys and then on Thursday America’s vote is revealed and we are down to the top 10. This most likely leaves some wiggle room for a few more to sneak through–perhaps 12 or 13 finalists?

They are going to need wiggle room because the gal talent is fierce. Narrowing this field down to five is going to be painful to watch.

First up was Zoanette Johnson. “Ewww” was my first thought from the second she opened her mouth to sing. How this gal got so far with the talent she’s up against is beyond me. It must be the hair!

Breanna Steer brought controversy among the judges. Some loved it and others didn’t. I thought it was good, but then I heard the rest of the singers. Compared to the others, I don’t think Breanna is going to make it.

I think a star in the making is contestant Aubrey Cleland. I think she’s current in her song choices and performances and look. I’d be surprised if she doesn’t make the top 5.

We have two country performers remaining in the competition…Janelle Arthur and Kree Harrison. If I had to pick, I prefer Kree over Janelle. If I had my choice, they would both leave the competition to help avoid the confusion of having country versus pop.

Tina Torres just doesn’t do anything for me. She doesn’t stick out in my mind with her performances. I think she’ll be going home on Thursday.

Angie Miller returned to the piano and sang a song written by Colton Dixon from last year’s Idol. I loved the song–good for Colton! The judges love this 18 year-old gal and I suspect she’ll be around for a long, long time.

I don’t think Adriana Latonio should plan to be around too much longer. The judges used the word “pageant-y”.

Giving me chills the first time this season was Amber Holcomb. I love this gal. She channeled Whitney in this song. Welcome to the final 10 Amber!

Another favorite of mine from the beginning is Candice Glover. She has just an incredible range. From the beginning I’ve been concerned about her current-ness. Hopefully she can pull audience support into her corner.

Okay, let’s see where that leaves me. I would like to see Candice, Amber, Angie, Aubrey and Kree as the final five. If there is the chance to add one more it would be Breanna Steer. I think she’s a pop star in the making regardless of what happens in this show.

Stay tuned…Bloggergal

Hands down, angie miller has to be my absolute favorite. The zoanette Johnson was WAY off key. She should be going home. But, in my opinion, it’s a guy’s win this year. As much as I love angie, I think the guys are triumphant so far. And about mariah carrey; I think she’s extremely heart felt about her decisions and I believe she is one of the best judges on the panel. I respect her opinion although I think she goes off a lot of what the others say.

In my opinion the male singers are much better than the girls. Angie Miller had a outstanding performance on Tuesday. I think she will be the one to be the female finalist for this season. All of the other girls need some work to do. None of the other ones really impressed me so they might be in trouble later on. Mariah Carrey is my favorite judge. She is not rude or ignorant towards the people unlike Nikky Minaj.

Hands down, Angela Miller is my favorite. I like her voice and I also like how she plays the piano while singing. I want her win but anything could happen. Mariah Carey is a good judge but she’s to sweet. Everyone says she’s a diva, and I agree.

Angela Miller was amazing! She completely out did everyone, I can see her wining the whole season. As for Mariah Carey: She is a drama queen and tries way to hard to be nice. The tension between her and Nikki is like watching two dudes have a fight over pride: stupid and ridiculous. I think she needs to get over herself and be more realistic to the people who cant sing, simple as that

Once again I was not very impressed with the girls performance for this week. I am still sticking to what I said during the auditions, it is still early in the competition but I truly believe that we will have a male winner this year. I am also not a big fan of the new judge Mariah Carey, honestly the only two I like on the judges panel are Keith, and Randy.

Got to watch about 5 minutes of the girls thing week in my jazz rock class. I thought one girl was alright but I don’t remember her name at all. She played a piano though. I much rather the vs cause the man with the nerdy glasses are cool. Mariah Carey is an okay judge, haven’t seen her do much, well I guess will see what happens next week.

I think Angie is going to win this, I’ve got my money on it now. I feel like Mariah is very conceited though, or she’s just kind of there. I also appreciate that Keith Urban gives genuine hugs to the contestants, lol

I thought that Angela Miller was the best contestant so far. I like how she also played the piano while singing and I think that definitely stood out to the judges and most people that watch the show. I think Mariah Carey is a good judge too but sometimes she might be too nice.

There were many good girls that performed but i dont think that they are nearly as good as the boys. All the boys sound much better and i think that the girls do not have a good chance to beat all the boys. Also i think that mariah is a very good jusge. She is good and derservse to be a judge unlke one of the other judges. She has a lot of talent and a beautiful singer.

For the girls i dont think they pulled off there best. If any of the girls want to beat the boys they have to step in up and do better in the next perforance. Also i think mariah is a beautiful singer and is a very good judge.

I honestly do not understand how Zoanette keeps making it through. Her voice is so rough its ridiculous.

Mariah can definately toughen up a little bit . She is a judge, a very good one, but she can definatelky be a little more abrupt. My favorite girl in the competition definately has to be Janelle Arthur. I love this girl. I love her personality and especially her beautiful soothing voice!

I don’t think that Kree and Janelle are anything special. Their country voices do not stand out to me. I like Mariah Carey as a judge, but I feel like she should give the contestants more constructive criticism because she certainly has the experience to do it. Angie’s performance was my favorite- I liked how she played the piano.

I thought that this week was pretty good all in all. Some of the contestants are quite good, but others just confuse me. I really don’t know if they made it this far because of talent or because American Idol thought it would be funny. I don’t think that’s fair in any way. I also feel that Mariah Carey is trying too hard to take Paula Abdul’s spot as the push over, way too nice type of judge. Be original, Mariah!
