American Idol’s Top Ten Gals Take the Stage in Vegas
Last night, we heard the 10 final girls sing in Las Vegas. Tonight we hear the 10 guys and then on Thursday America’s vote is revealed and we are down to the top 10. This most likely leaves some wiggle room for a few more to sneak through–perhaps 12 or 13 finalists?
They are going to need wiggle room because the gal talent is fierce. Narrowing this field down to five is going to be painful to watch.
First up was Zoanette Johnson. “Ewww” was my first thought from the second she opened her mouth to sing. How this gal got so far with the talent she’s up against is beyond me. It must be the hair!
Breanna Steer brought controversy among the judges. Some loved it and others didn’t. I thought it was good, but then I heard the rest of the singers. Compared to the others, I don’t think Breanna is going to make it.
I think a star in the making is contestant Aubrey Cleland. I think she’s current in her song choices and performances and look. I’d be surprised if she doesn’t make the top 5.
We have two country performers remaining in the competition…Janelle Arthur and Kree Harrison. If I had to pick, I prefer Kree over Janelle. If I had my choice, they would both leave the competition to help avoid the confusion of having country versus pop.
Tina Torres just doesn’t do anything for me. She doesn’t stick out in my mind with her performances. I think she’ll be going home on Thursday.
Angie Miller returned to the piano and sang a song written by Colton Dixon from last year’s Idol. I loved the song–good for Colton! The judges love this 18 year-old gal and I suspect she’ll be around for a long, long time.
I don’t think Adriana Latonio should plan to be around too much longer. The judges used the word “pageant-y”.
Giving me chills the first time this season was Amber Holcomb. I love this gal. She channeled Whitney in this song. Welcome to the final 10 Amber!
Another favorite of mine from the beginning is Candice Glover. She has just an incredible range. From the beginning I’ve been concerned about her current-ness. Hopefully she can pull audience support into her corner.
Okay, let’s see where that leaves me. I would like to see Candice, Amber, Angie, Aubrey and Kree as the final five. If there is the chance to add one more it would be Breanna Steer. I think she’s a pop star in the making regardless of what happens in this show.
Stay tuned…Bloggergal

Hands down, angie miller has to be my absolute favorite. The zoanette Johnson was WAY off key. She should be going home. But, in my opinion, it’s a guy’s win this year. As much as I love angie, I think the guys are triumphant so far. And about mariah carrey; I think she’s extremely heart felt about her decisions and I believe she is one of the best judges on the panel. I respect her opinion although I think she goes off a lot of what the others say.
