American Idol contestant who made the Top 24 cut for violating confidentiality agreement

‘Idol’ contestant cut after dad talks to paper
Lynche’s father violated confidentiality agreement, according to report

A moment of pride has turned to sorrow as an “American Idol” contestant has been cut from the competition after violating a confidentiality agreement, according to a report.

Michael Lynche (a.k.a. Big Mike) was reportedly told to pack his bags after his father revealed to his local Florida paper, The St. Petersburg Times, that Michael had made the top 24 — a violation of Idol rules requiring the singers and their families to keep the Hollywood week results quiet until they’re broadcast.

The New York Post, citing Idol spoiler site Joe’s Place, says Michael was replaced in the top 24 over the weekend. FOX has declined to comment on the report.

If Lynche has indeed been booted, he wouldn’t be the first. Last season, Joanna Pacitti was replaced by Felicia Barton on the list of top 36 contestants. FOX would not give a reason other than Pacitti was found to be “ineligible to continue in the competition.” But her dismissal followed reports that she had connections to executives at Idol producer Simon Fuller’s 19 Entertainment.

BloggerGal!! Good to “see” you again. We missed you at BB blog. I am really having to try hard to get into AI this year. I’m not sure why. It’s not because Paula is gone. Past years I was really into it from day 1. I would always have a fave early on. I know I will get into it by Hollywood at least. Looking forward to another great season.

I am interested to see what Ellen brings to the show. She should be entertaining.

BBBlogger, I did notice that you did the post… i didn’t read it though.. LOL. No offense, but I prefer to watch it all play out. I saw something about somebody getting cut and I quickly looked away.

Hey, I see you still have that avatar Bloggergal… I can’t get mine to show up here.. oh well.

I always enjoyed these audition shows before. I guess I have just finally had my fill of the William Hung’s of the world. They aren’t funny to me anymore. I know I’ll love Hollywood!

PS.. BBBlogger, you don’t have to tell me that Bloggergal rocks… but that was nice of you to say. I’ll have to get some of my BB and Survivor pals to add their thoughts here.

I don’t think it will be that big of a deal…I think it is nice to know so you can watch and enjoy him until the final 24.

or…

Maybe they will edit him out completly. Who knows?

I do not do spoilers….and Bloggergal1 will make sure this blog rocks all season long!

I believe it is kind of unfortunate that Simon is going to walk out of the tv series next year. It absolutely is definately not the same. I actually do really like some of the contestants up to now, but do not enjoy a winner as yet. Still, I do not feel there is a chance that any of these folks shall be much better than Adam Lambert.

I know that it is not just me! This is the 2nd year that the
true winner’s were cheated out of the lime light!
Last year Adam Lambert was truly the winner, as much as
Chris Allen was pleasant to look at, he did not have the talent to have become an american idol!
And again tonight Crystal Bowersox was put on the back burner!
Lee Dewize doesn’t have any personallity nor talent that God gave a goat!
I am totally disgusted an disapointed with the choice that America has chosen for there Idol!
