American Idol Rocks The House
Hi Everybody,
Adam starts the show off with a huge bang! Singing Zeppelin’s “A Whole Lot of Love” he shows his rock genius. There is no question that this is HIS genre. This week’s mentor is Slash, formerly of Guns N Roses and currently Velvet Revolver. His band accompanies the contestants giving them that real rock ‘n roll sound. Randy suggests that Adam do a record with Slash and I was thinking that very same thing! Adam needs a rock band of his own. I’ve always been so sad that Freddie Mercury died because he had such amazing, unique talent and then along comes Adam Lambert!
Singing Janis Joplin’s “Cry Baby” tonight is Allison Areheta. After just mentioning how much Adam reminds me of Freddie Mercury, would I sound repetitive if I say that Allison has always reminded me of Janis Joplin? It’s one of the reasons I like Allison. I think she sounded great but the judges aren’t too thrilled with her song choice. Any kind of negativity from the judges tonight can be your ticket home.
Changing it up a bit, American Idol decides to have the contestants perform duets tonight. First pair to perform are Danny & Kris. The judges think they sound good together and forced to choose…Simon says Danny did better than Kris.
Kris Allen sings “Come Together” a Beatles classic. This kind of music fits Allison and Adam but I don’t think it’s Kris’s thing. The judges are mixed about his performance. Simon’s quote “It was like eating ice for lunch.”
Danny Gokey does his version of “Dream On”. The judges think he’s out of his comfort zone and he gave it his best effort. Simon thinks the last note was a “horror movie” but he also thinks he’ll still be around next week…and so do I.
The duet with Adam and Allison is amazing! They sing so well together and really compliment each other. A really good end to tonight’s show.
So who will be in the final three? My guess is Kris Allen goes home tomorrow night. Allison and Adam will be the final two! So stay tuned to find out…Bloggergal1
