American Idol Saves The Best For Last With Kris Allen
Hi Everybody,
Tonight’s performances are all popular “most downloaded” songs. The final nine have an enormous amount of songs to chose from. Let’s see if they chose the right one!
Anoop Desai chooses an Usher song. Judges aren’t too thrilled with the song choice but they do say his vocals were good. Well, all but Simon–he said it was a disaster. Did you notice his facial expressions? He makes faces and they aren’t always pretty!
Singing Bob Marley’s “Turn Your Lights Down Low” is Megan Joy. She needs to kick butt on this song because her ratings are down big time–at least on this website! Kara tells her she’s in trouble. Paula thinks she needs to sit on a stool and sing a ballad. Simon says nobody is going to like that song. Randy says it was like watching paint dry. I think she needs to focus on her sexiness and choose a song that is really, really hot and sing it straight at the camera and go for the “guys” votes. That is, of course, if she makes it through to next week.
Danny Gokey goes “modern country” with Rascal Flatts. He does an incredible job. He actually made me tear up! All judges give thumbs up.
For the first time this season, Allison accompanies herself on guitar to No Doubt’s “Don’t Speak”. Most of the comments related to her outfit rather than her song. My husband so wants her to make her hair a more normal color. Are we just too old to appreciate her? Not that I’m old–mind you–but I’m definitely not a teenager anymore.
Not surprisingly, Scott McIntyre sings Billy Joel. To me it was a carbon copy performance. Kara and Paula like him. Simon says it was his best performance so far. Randy says it was one of the best of the night.
Matt Giraud sang a song done by The Fray. The judges don’t like it and I didn’t either. He seems to have lost his way and he needs to quickly find himself.
Lil Rounds sings “I Surrender” a Celine Dion hit. The judges, once again, don’t like her choice of songs. Like Matt Giraud, she seems to be getting more and more confused. Is this partly the judges fault because they keep making conflicting statements? She has to stop listening to the judges and start doing what she thinks is best for herself.
What can I say? Adam Lambert’s version of Wild Cherry’s “Play That Funky Music” was amazing. He takes every song he sings and turns it into an “Adam Lambert” song. But I have to say, what is with the hair? Is he looking more and more like Elvis every week? Not likin’ it–sorry.
Kris Allen sings “Ain’t No Sunshine”. My personal favorite of the night and you all know how I feel about Adam Lambert! I will definitely download that one tomorrow. All the judges loved it. Once again, AI saved the best for last.
Bottom three this week? I have to go with Megan Joy, Matt Giraud and Anoop Desai. Let me know what you think. Good night…Bloggergal1

Hi All,
I agree with most of the judges comments however I strongly disagree with remarks on Matt Giraud. I thought he was one of the best last night. Why can’t he sing R&B and Rock. He was in great voice and rocked the house. He keeps doing what the judges ask then he’s penalized for doing it. Matt is talented and should be in for awhile. There is no doubt that Adam is amazing. Just like Kara said last night, I can’t wait to hear what he’s going to do next. That makes an American Idol.
