American Idol’s Next Three Finalists Are Revealed

Happy Thursday evening everyone and welcome to AI’s elimination show!

Ryan starts with the typical “pick on Simon” joke.  He does at least one per show.  Enough already.  He needs new material.

Next is the montage of contestant tryouts.  I guess they show this in case you missed the other ten times they showed the same scenes.

On  to the group number.  Watching Nick Mitchell during this song makes it worth it for me.  Too funny.

Following a review of last night’s performances, Ryan moves on to the cuts.  He calls up Allison Iraheta, Jesse Langseth and Matt Bretzke.  Allison takes the first of tonight’s three spots.  Not at all surprising.  This knocks Jesse and Matt out of the running.

Next to come down on the stage is Kris Allen and Megan Joy Corkrey.  Ryan has them stand on the side and then calls down Matt Giruad and Jeanine Vailes.  Out of these four only one will make it to the top twelve.  Ryan narrows it down and eliminates Jeanine Vailes and Matt Giraud.  We’re down to Kris and Megan.  I’m for Kris but I think it will be Megan.  I’m very happy and surprised to find that its Kris!

Okay I have to say I’ll be extremely shocked if that last spot doesn’t go to Adam Lambert.  But who else is left?  Well, there’s Nick Mitchell, Kai Kalama, Mishovanna Henson and Jasmine Murray.  From the beginning I thought that Jasmine was going to be a force to reckon with, but last night’s performance wasn’t even close to American Idol standards.  Kai is awfully cute and such a good guy.  I would be very proud to have him as a son.  Unfortunately, his song didn’t make a lasting impression.  Mishovanna just isn’t ready.  That leaves Nick Mitchell.  I’ve seen America do some really strange things when voting for the American Idol.

Tonight’s performer is last year’s American Idol contestant Brooke White.  She performs her new single.  Throughout her song, my husband is going on and on about how much better last year’s contestants were.  I think it’s a bit too early to tell.

Finally, Ryan calls the last five down on the stage.  Eliminated are Mishovanna, Kai and Jasmine.  We’re down to Adam and Nick.  Of course Ryan goes to a commercial, although I don’t think anyone is really on pins and needles about the conclusion of this one, are they?  Adam takes that third spot.  The best part of this is that I get to hear him sing again.  Boy can he work that camera!

Next week we hear the final twelve perform.  See you then.  Gnite…Bloggergal1

I agree that Allison did a bang up job on her song Wednesday but I don’t think she has the voice it is going to take to keep up with the different types of music on AI. I know she’s young and I hope she can get rid of the Gosh you mean me attitude. In all fairness to her I feel that comes along with being young.

I picked 5 of the 6. While I feel Allison did a very good job on her song Wednesdaay night I’m wondering if she can keep up with the variety of songs during AI. I know this comes with being young but she needs to lose the Gosh Me attitude.I’m also surprised that Simon didn’t tell her she had no karisma. Her song was good her demeaner was bland. Adam has the seasoned showmanship and is very easy on the eye, but I feel he screamed a little. Only my opinion.

Deb,
Thanks for the comments! I guess as time goes on we will see if America votes by talent or for their favorite (as they’ve done in the past). I’m looking forward to tonight’s final group singing. Take care, Bloggergal1
