Countdown to American Idol Premiere
Hi Everybody
Tuesday is around the corner and along with that the premiere of this year’s American Idol. Auditions are held in Boston with four judges, but one of them is not Ellen DeGeneres. Since she wasn’t signed on yet, AI used celebrity judge Victoria Beckham. Ellen won’t come on the scene until Hollywood week. She did say she is watching all the tapes of the auditions to become familiar with the contestants prior to her debut.
American Idol is going back to 24 final contestants instead of the huge 36 that they had last year. They say it will give us a better chance of knowing each of the contestants. I hope so. They also say that this year’s contestants have “emotional” stories and aren’t semi-professionals trying to catch that big break (Adam?). The contestants will come from all over the country and just be normal people with normal jobs that never tried to reach for the stars before deciding to try out for American Idol. We’ll see.
Another area of AI that is anticipated to change is the theme’s for choosing songs. Most people (me…you?) are getting pretty tired of the same old, same old…Broadway, Country, Top 40, etc., etc. Hopefully AI will mix it up a bit this year. Again, we’ll see!
I’ll be back on Tuesday. While watching the show, I’ll keep my eye out for the talented and ignore (at least in this blog) the non-talented. I refuse to go there with American Idol. Have a great Sunday and stay tuned…Bloggergal1
