Standing Ovation for Adam on American Idol Tonight!

Hi!

Ryan starts tonight’s American Idol by introducing the judges and showing their pictures when they were little.  Some were cute, some not so cute!  First up tonight is Danny Gokey singing “Stand By Me”.  The judges all like his performance.  I thought it got better as the song went along.  It wasn’t one of my Danny Gokey favorite songs though.

So here’s the thing.  Kris Allen sang and then after him came Lil Rounds and by the time the commercial came on, I couldn’t remember what Kris Allen sang!  So what does that tell you?  That his song was forgetable.  I know he sang while accompanying himself on the guitar.  I know that someone in the audience called him a hottie.  I know the judge weren’t too impressed.  But, nope, I don’t know what he sang!

Lil Rounds sang “What’s Love Got To Do With It” and the judges repeated what they tell her every week.  That she’s not making the songs her own.  That her song choices are bad.  That she should be doing a lot better than she is.  What do I say?  She’s no Fantasia that’s for sure.

Remember that commercial by Kodak that used the song “True Colors”?  It was all I could think of while Anoop Desai sang that same song.  The judges liked the way he performed the song.  I thought it was a tad boring.  So far no one is really standing out tonight.  It’s a “blah” kind of night.

For the first time this season, Scott McIntyre sang without his piano.  He accompanied himself with his electric guitar.  The judges didn’t think he did a good job.  He can’t hit the high notes, that’s for sure.

Allison Iraheta sang “I Can’t Make You Love Me”.  The judges love her.  Randy says she reminds him of Kelly Clarkson.  She definitely has a unique sound, doesn’t she?  But that hair…

Singing Stevie Wonder’s “Part Time Lover” was Matt Giraud.  The judges were all praise.  I think he does better without the piano and very cute lookin’ tonight too.

Once again the best was saved for last.  Adam Lambert sang Tear’s For Fears “Mad World”.  I’m not really familiar with the song but he was incredible.  I could see him audio recording that song tomorrow.  To top it off, SIMON gave him a standing ovation.  I’ve been watching from the beginning and I can’t recall another time that Simon has stood for a contestant.  If he has, please comment and let us all know.

Who will be in the bottom three?  Definitely not Adam!  If I get to pick it would be Scott, Lil Rounds and Anoop…with Scott saying goodbye this week.  But hey, what do I know?  See you tomorrow night.  Bloggergal1

I think the judges have been very accurate this season with their comments. The worst of the night was Scott. I suspect he’s a better song writer than singer. The rest are vocally so much better. Lil Rounds is just not living up to all the hype but I don’t think she’s really quite good enough. Anoop has really good pipes but he is boring. . Chris was boring. Danny disappointed me this week. He took too much liberty with the melody of a really classic and great song. He and Adam both are showing a bit of arrogance. Glad that Matt redeemed himself this week. He’s much better than last weeks performance. Adam is very smart. He’s unique and a money maker. Not the best voice but the whole package is there. He’s my pick to be in the top 2. Look how he has adjusted and toned down his image. The one I feel most sorry for is Allison. She’s got a look, great pipes. She has real talent (although not my taste) but I fear she’s going to voted off way too soon. She’s better than that.

Listen to this song; if you do not already adore Adam, you will at least appreciate his talent.

I HOPE HE SINGS THIS ON AI-it will seal his fate; in a good way.

I am very heart sick that Scott had to leave the show. To me he is the ideal American Idol. Scott showed that anyone with a handicap can not use it as an excuse to do what they want to do.To me he had multi faceted talent, he could sing, play the guitar, and the most amazing thing to me was his ability to play the piano without being able to see a note. The judges confused Scott, do you play and sing at the piano r not?I remember the night one of the judges asked him if he had just learned to play that song on the piano on that day. His answer was yes. My definition of an idol is one who can sing and be a role model, talented, and represent the good in young people today. Scott could sing better than Anoop. I felt that Scott was a kind, sweet, humble soul with talent. I say boo to you, Simaon and Randy for not giving him another chance. Simon and Randy did not even listen to Scott singing his last song the night THEY booted him off.It was apparent that your decision had already been made before he even walked on the stage the night you two booted him off.He received mostly good coments from you through most of the season.Maybe we need 5 judges to help break a tie when a contestant is being voted on. It was evident that this vote was split down the middle. Kara and Paula for him staying and Simon and Randy voting him off. A fifth vote made have changed this outcome. Scott, if you read these blogs, know you will be sadly missed in our home and many families we know. God bless you in all you do. God has given you a gift and you are using your gift.
